Dr. R. Geetha Reddy.  M.Sc., Pg. Dip in Stat., M. Phil., Ph.D.
Ramala Geetha Reddy was born in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India, on November 29, 1964. She studied B.Sc Home Science at Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur. She obtained her Masters from Sri Venkateswara University, in the year1985 in Home Science Extension and was honoured with Annie Elizebeth Laird prize given for the best outgoing student. She received her M.phil and Ph.D. degrees in the same department in 1987 and 1992 respectively. She also obtained her post graduate diploma in Statistics from the S.V. University and had consistant first class throughout her academics.

She joined as Assistant professor in ANGR Agricultural University in 1998, and  promoted to Associate Professor in 2008 and has 18 years of teaching experience. She has trained more than 1000 women extension officers of Dept. of Women Devt. and Child Welfare, Govt. of A.P. as Instructor in Middle Level Training centre.

She pioneered Designing and conducting 3 short courses for the department of Extension education on basics of field functioning, techniques of Public speaking, Video Recording and Editing which is first of its kind in the department and were approved by the University. Actively involved in the drafting and revision of PG and UG syllabus and instrumental in getting Postgraduate programme to the Department. While in teaching she contributed to the student Community by holding various additional duties, NSS Officer, Warden, Officer in charge of Student Activities, Placement Officer and improved student amenities, placements etc.

She authored four e-courses on Print journalism, Electronic journalism, Mass communication and Designing Information material and developed practical manuals for these courses and offered many of the new courses including Experiential Learning Programme during the implementation of four year degree programme and IVth Dean’s syllabus. She co-authored “Manual for Anganwadi workers” (Telugu) published by Department of Women and Child Welfare, Govt. of Inadia and developed number of publication material like booklets, folders, leaflets etc. for rural women during the courses on Designing Information material and Rural Home Science Work Experience Programme and published 13 papers in National and International journals. Her areas of research include women studies, communication and media.

She presented papers in several national and International seminars on Women studies and extension related topics. She is an external examiner to the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat and SV University, Tirupati. She is  guest faculty to national institutes like NIRD, EEI and Nimsme.

At present she is working as Deputy Director, Home Science and Principal Investigator of a project worth of Rs. One Crore on Large Scale production of Bio degradable Natural Dye Paints for idols which is first of its kind in India sponsored by Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) and established an eco friendly Natutal Dye Paint Production Unit at University main Campus, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
