International women’s day celebrations

Every year International women’s day is celebrated on March 8 – A day to commemorate the struggle for women’s rights and celebrate the political, social, economic and cultural achievements of women throughout history.

This year, the Deparment of HECM celebrated  the International women’s day with an event of theme”Be bold for change”. It started with Ramp walk by the students in the outfits of famous women personalities in their roles such as Jhansi Lakshmibai, Rudrama Devi, Indira Gandhi, Prathibha Patil, Sarijini Naidu and Jaya lalitha. It was followed by an inspiring speech by the Associate Dean, Dr.V. Vijaya Lakshmi wishing the students to work for building a great nation. Dr. A.Mary Swarnalatha, Professor and Head, Dept.HECM and Dr.P.Amala kumara, Professor, Senior faculty and other staff members in the department graced the occasion and motivated the students be bold for change in all their endevours.

Skits, Mime action, rural games and a quiz programme were also conducted in which the students actively participated along with the staff.
